asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the dates of the vesting in the allottees of the holdings on the Dyas estate, the Evans estate, and the Nugent estate; and whether one or more allottees on one or more of these estates was vested before the others, and, if so, if he will state the reason for this.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Estates.
Holdings on the Dyas and Nugent estates were vested in allottees on various dates. On the Dyas estate one holding was vested on 6th November, 1930; three on 10th March, 1933; and four on 20th March, 1936. On the Nugent estate one holding was vested on 10th March, 1933; eight on 15th June, 1934; and one on 17th May, 1935. No holdings on the Evans estate have yet been vested. It is not always practicable to vest the holdings of all allottees on an estate at the same time. Holdings allotted to migrants must be vested as early as possible in order that the exchange may be completed and the retransfer of the surrendered holdings carried out. Allotments by way of enlargements of existing holdings cannot be vested unless the allottee is (or becomes) registered owner of the holding with which the enlargement is to be consolidated. Where there is no consolidation in question a parcel is not usually vested for a period of seven years after allotment.
asked the Minister for Lands if he will state in respect of (1) the Dyas estate, (2) the Evans estate, and (3) the Nugent estate, (a) the number of allottees in each, (b) the number of migrants in each, (c) the number who sold their holdings since, and how many of those were migrants; also the total amount of money spent on housing and land improvement in those farms, and whether any money is still being allocated for improvement.
