Vol. 79 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Accommodation in Dublin.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that children of tender years residing in the Ellenfield and Larkhill districts of Dublin have to travel long distances into the city to attend school; and if he will state whether his Department has any plans or proposals for suitable school accommodation in or near these districts.

Since the Deputy's previous question on the 15th November last I have inquired into the distances which children must travel to school from the Ellenfield and Larkhill areas. The information which I have secured does not bear out the Deputy's contention.

Tenders for three new schools in that area have been received and are at present under examination.
