Vol. 79 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of County Kerry Turbary.

Eamonn O Ciosáin

asked the Minister for Lands if the turbary at Tullihinell, Asdee, Ballylongford, in the Blacker Douglas estate, County Kerry, has now been acquired by the Land Commission; and, if so, whether the said turbary will be divided without delay so that the prospective allottees will be in a position to cut turf in the early summer of this year.

The turbary at Tullihinell North and South on the Blacker Douglas estate, Record No. E.C.3384, County Kerry, is the subject of a scheme of regulations under Section 21, Land Act, 1903, and Section 42, Land Act, 1923, providing for the allotment of turbary plots to 49 tenant purchasers. It will be necessary to construct certain passageways and drains for the development of the bogs, and it is hoped (subject to the allottees complying with the usual conditions regarding future maintenance) to have the matter completed at an early date.
