Vol. 79 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dáil Internal Loan.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state on what date applications for refunds of moneys subscribed to the original Dáil Éireann Internal Loan definitely closed; if any applications have been received and considered since that date; if he is aware that there are still many persons who failed to make claims within the period prescribed for closing, and, if so, if he will consider such claims if they are furnished now.

Section 6 of the Dáil Éireann Loans and Funds (Amendment) Act, 1933, fixed the 31st March, 1934, as the closing date for making claims for repayment of subscriptions to the Dáil Éireann Loan (Internal), 1919-20. Some claims were received after that date and, as suggested in the question, there may still be subscribers who did not make any claims for repayment. In view of the provisions of the Act, it is not open to me to entertain any claim presented after the 31st March, 1934.
