Vol. 80 No. 16

Public Business. - Emergency Powers (Continuance) Bill, 1940—Committee and Final Stages.

Bill passed through Committee, reported without amendment, and received for final consideration.
Question proposed: "That the Bill do now pass."

It is expedient for the purpose of record to say that despite the small compass of the Bill appearing upon the paper, the House fully realises that this is the re-enactment for a further 12 months of a statute which was made the subject of considerable debate and discussion on another occasion. We are renewing it for a further 12 months with full appreciation of the nature of its contents.

Question put and agreed to.
