Vol. 80 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Subsidising of Farm Labourers' Wages.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if it is the intention of the Government to put into operation a scheme for the relief of unemployment under which the State will contribute part of the wages paid by farmers who are employing additional men.

The Government have at present under consideration a scheme of farm improvements which would, it is anticipated, have the effect of relieving unemployment. It is considered that it will be possible to make an announcement in the matter at an early date.
