Vol. 80 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Forestry Workers.

asked the Minister for Lands whether in view of the revised rates of wages fixed by the Agricultural Wages Board he is prepared to increase correspondingly the rates of wages paid to forestry workers.

I am not in a position to add anything to the statement I made in reply to a question raised by the Deputy on the debate on the Estimates for the Forestry Service, when I explained that in the matter of pay the position of forestry labourers is bound up with that of other workers in Government employment, and is therefore not a matter for decision by my Department.
