Vol. 81 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Mayo Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is now in a position to state if the Land Commission inquiries have been completed into the question of the acquisition of the lands of Ballycurran demesne, formerly the property of Colonel Beddington, County Mayo; and, if so, whether these lands will be resumed for the relief of local congestion in the area at an early date.

The Land Commission have completed their inquiries regarding the lands of Ballycurran demesne, formerly the property of Colonel Beddington, and have decided to institute proceedings for their acquisition, but at the present stage it is not possible to state when the lands, if acquired, will be divided.
