Vol. 81 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Turf Cutting Schemes.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if it is the intention of the Government to put into operation schemes for the cutting and saving of turf on lines similar to the minor relief schemes at present in operation.

The details of schemes designed to secure an increased production of hand-won turf during the coming season are at present under consideration in the Departments concerned. I expect decisions as to the best method of achieving our object in the very near future, but until these have been reached, I am not in a position to say whether any particular form of scheme will be put into operation.
