Vol. 82 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway-Clifden Bus Service.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that the Great Southern Railways Company has discontinued the bus service on the route, Galway-Cong-Leenane-Clifden; and, if so, whether he will make representations to the company with a view to its early restoration.

The Great Southern Railways Company discontinued the omnibus service on the Galway-Cong-Leenane-Clifden route as from the 10th of last month in consequence of the restrictions in the supplies of petrol available to the company. As a result of representations which had already been made by my Department in the matter the company have made arrangements to restore a five-day weekly service on this route as from the 10th of this month.
