Vol. 82 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Boiler Inspection.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware of the grave difficulties encountered, due to the absence of petrol supplies, by engineer surveyors of the boiler insurance companies in carrying out the statutory inspections under the Factory and Workshop Acts and the inspections of agricultural traction engines required for the issue of a certificate of insurance under the Road Traffic Act, and if he will make some supply available for this essential service.

I am aware that the large majority of persons who use their motor cars in connection with their business are experiencing difficulties in consequence of the lack of petrol supplies. Owing to the limited quantity of petrol available for distribution, however, allowances cannot be made to any particular section of business men including engineer surveyors attached to boiler insurance companies.
