Vol. 82 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin County Bus Services.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will urge on the Dublin United Tramways Company that they continue the bus services from Eden Quay to the Boot Inn and Leas Cross, and if he will state whether it is with his approval that these services are to be discontinued; if, further, he is aware that the service is the only one available to the residents of that large rural area.

The Dublin United Tramways Company do not propose to discontinue the omnibus service between Eden Quay and Leas Cross. In view of the position regarding supplies of motor spirit, and as the Leas Cross service which passes Boot Inn, is expected to provide an adequate alternative service, I agreed to the discontinuance as from March 30th of the separate omnibus service to Boot Inn.
