Written Answers. - Mayo Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission propose to acquire the lands of Ballargadaun estate, estate of Michael Connor (Record No. Mayo S.7647) for the purposes of enlarging small holdings in the vicinity, and, if so, when.

The Land Commission instituted proceedings for the acquisition of the lands of Ballyargadaun on the estate of Michael Connor, Record No. S.7647, County Mayo. The owner objected to the acquisition of the lands, and his objection was heard by the Land Commission and allowed.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission propose to acquire the lands of Buckwaria, in the urban district of Westport, containing 63 acres or thereabouts and recently purchased by a Mr. McShare, for the purpose of enlarging uneconomic holdings in the vicinity.

The question appears to refer to a holding at Buckwaria, Westport, formerly the property of Miss Ellen Geraghty (deceased) and recently purchased by a Mr. Thomas Gill.

The Land Commission do not propose to take any action at present regarding the acquisition of these lands.
