Vol. 82 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Montgomery Estate (Meath).

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that many small holdings, which originally belonged to the Major Montgomery estate at Kilmer, Hill of Down, County Meath, have been bought back by the owner of this estate, and if he will state what steps, if any, he intends taking to have those small farms taken over and divided among the uneconomic holders in the vicinity.

The Land Commission have no information as to the position indicated by the Deputy's question. If he will be good enough to supply detailed particulars sufficient to identify the small holdings to which he refers, the matter will be further investigated, and he will be duly informed of the result.

Will the Minister take steps to delay vesting for 20 years in dealing with the estates to which Deputy Giles refers?

That is a separate question.
