Written Answers. - Claims for Military Pensions.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state if the investigations into the cases of Mrs. Fennell, Rocky Bay, Nahoval; Mrs. Burke, Gladdane, Dungarvan; and Ellen McCarthy, Kilbrittain, all claimants under the Military Service Pensions Act, have yet been completed; and, if not, will he state how soon they are likely to be reached and decided.

(1) The Referee has not completed his investigations on the applications for service certificates made by Mrs. Maria Fennell, Rocky Bay, Nahoval, Minane Bridge, and Mrs. Catherine Burke, Gladdane (or Glidane), Dungarvan. It is not at present possible to state definitely when the necessary investigations will be completed.

(2) The Referee has completed his investigations on the application made by Mrs. Ellen McCarthy, Village, Kilbrittain. Statutory notification of the Referee's finding has been communicated to Mrs. McCarthy.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state if the investigations into cases of Seán Murphy (36088), Knockbrogan Park, Bandon; Michael O'Driscoll (29197), Lisvoneen, Ballineea; Cornelius Buckley (24663— A.1/R), claimants under the Military Service Pensions Acts, have yet been completed; and, if not, will he state how soon they are likely to be reached and decided.

(1) The Referee has not yet completed his investigations on the applications for service certificates made by John Francis (Seán) Murphy, Bandon, and Michael O'Driscoll, Lisvoneen, Ballineea, County Cork. It is not at present possible to state definitely when the necessary investigations will be completed.

(2) The Referee completed his investigations on the application made by Cornelius Buckley, Boherbue, Newmarket, County Cork, and notified applicant of his finding. The applicant has lodged representations with a view to revision of the finding. The necessary further investigations in this respect have not yet been completed.
