Vol. 83 No. 10

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Air-Raid Precautions.

asked the Minister for Finance whether under Section 64 of the Air Raid Precautions Act, 1939, he has made any arrangements for the payment of compensation in the event of injury to persons engaged in air-raid precautions activities, and, if so, if he will make the details known to the personnel of the various air-raid services; further, if no such arrangements have been made, if he will expedite a scheme for that purpose.

A compensation scheme under the section mentioned was duly made. A copy of the scheme was sent by the Department of Defence to each local authority responsible for the organisation of air-raid precautions services. A copy was also sent to the secretary to the Building Trades Group, Dublin Trades Union Council, from whose members the rescue and demolition service is recruited.
