Vol. 83 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payment of Purchase Money.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Land Commission acquired the estate of Mrs. Teresa Mulchrone, County Roscommon (record No. 10298) over three years ago; that the estate was vested in the Land Commission on January 24th, 1941; that the land bonds representing the purchase money of the estate have not been paid to Mrs. Mulchrone, and if he will state the cause of delay in payment and when such payment will be made.

The estate of Mrs. Teresa Mulchrone was vested in the Land Commission under Section 10 of the Land Act, 1927, on 24th January, 1941—that is, less than five months ago. Following vesting, the land bonds representing the purchase money of an estate cannot normally be paid out until title thereto has been investigated by an examiner of title, and such investigation must be made in order of priority of estates. Having regard to the number of estates in priority, it is not possible at present to state when the estate of Mrs. Mulchrone will be reached for investigation of title.
