Vol. 83 No. 15

Housing (Amendment) Bill, 1941—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Acts, 1932 to 1940, to amend the Labourers Acts, 1883 to 1937, and to enable certain local authorities to guarantee the payment of moneys borrowed by building societies.—(Minister for Local Government and Public Health).
Bill read the First Time.

When will the Bill be circulated?

I hope to-morrow.

Will the report of the Housing Commission be circulated with the Bill?

I have not received the report yet.

Can the Minister say whether he expects to receive it soon?

I have been trying to hurry them, but I have not got any definite promise as to when it will be available.

I suppose the Minister, being in a glass house, cannot throw stones about expedition in the disposing of matters.

I do not think I am in a glass house at all.

Second Stage ordered for Wednesday, 25th June.
