Vol. 84 No. 11

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the business as on the Order Paper—items Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, the last item to include Votes 55 to 72.

Have the Government changed their minds with regard to the Vote concerning the Department of the Taoiseach? We were told this morning that we would resume consideration of the Vote for the Taoiseach's Department and then deal with the Department of Industry and Commerce. Now, apparently, we are not going to take the Vote for the Department of the Taoiseach. Is that the position?

The further consideration of that matter has been postponed.

This would try the patience of Job.

What is the arrangement with regard to the Vote for the Department of the Taoiseach?

It is not being taken to-day.

Will the House sit to-morrow?

If we complete the business as ordered to-day, it is not proposed to sit to-morrow.

Suppose we sit to-morrow and we finish the business before two o'clock, is it then proposed to take the Taoiseach's Vote, or is it intended to leave it over until next week?

The Taoiseach expressed a desire, about half an hour ago, to have the Vote for his Department left over—not to have it considered to-day. I understand that if the business as ordered to-day is finished, it is the intention not to sit to-morrow.

And the likelihood is that the Taoiseach's Vote will not be taken until next week?

That is so.
