Vol. 84 No. 15

Written Answer. - County Cavan Bog.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that Mr. James Fay, Three Garvaghs, Toneyduff, Bailieborough, County Cavan, lost his turf last year because he had no right-of-way to take it home, and that he will lose it again this year unless such a right-of-way is provided; and if, in view of a statement contained in a letter to Mr. Fay (P 22760/41) from the Secretary, Irish Land Commission. dated 25th June, 1941, that they found it necessary to postpone this and similar representations he will ensure that a temporary arrangement be made to enable him to secure his turf pending a permanent settlement of the matter.

Application has been made to the Land Commission by Mr. James Fay, Three Garvaghs, Toneyduff, Bailieborough, County Cavan, for provision of a right-of-way to a bog plot on his holding. Having regard to the emergency conditions obtaining it is regretted that no action can at present be taken by the Land Commission to provide a right-of-way as requested.
