Vol. 85 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Stradbally Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is now in a position to state what progress has been made in regard to providing a proper water supply for the town of Stradbally, Laoighis, and whether the said scheme has yet come to hand for final sanction by his Department.

Approval was given by my Department to the plans as far back as January last, when it appeared likely that the water rights would be acquired by agreement at a reasonable amount. The rights were not fully acquired at that time. I understand that negotiations for their acquisition are still in progress.
