Vol. 85 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Port of Sligo.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether in view of the large number of cattle on the hands of farmers in Sligo and the adjoining counties, and the unemployment among dock labourers in Sligo he will arrange to have the port of Sligo opened for the export of cattle.

Sligo port is open for the shipment of cattle to Great Britain but no cattle boats are sailing from this port and it has not been found possible so far to arrange for any shipment.
