Public Business. - Supplementary Estimates—Leave to Introduce.

Leave granted to introduce the following Supplementary Estimates for the services of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1942, namely:— Vote No. 69, Office of the Minister for Supplies; Vote 65, External Affairs. (Minister for Finance).

When is it proposed to take the Estimates?

It is proposed to take the Minister for Supplies one to-morrow.

To-morrow? We have not seen it yet.

It is ready for circulation now.

You are not going to spring that on us at 24 hours' notice.

I think the details of it are pretty well known and I understand the bakers want their money.

It is not the bakers who are going to get it. It is my old friends, the millers, who are going to get it. The bakers will not get much when the millers are in the field.

No. 65 will be taken this day fortnight.
