Vol. 85 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bombed Victims' Claims.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state when the claims of bombed victims are likely to be paid.

The rate at which claims in respect of injuries, whether to property or the person, arising out of bombing incidents can be brought to the payment stage depends on two factors: (a) the promptness with which the claims are lodged, and (b) the rate at which they can be investigated Departmentally. So far as the second factor is concerned, all possible steps are being taken to ensure that there will be no avoidable delay.
