Vol. 85 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Withdrawal of Military Service Pension Claim.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that Mr. Liam O'Sullivan, of William Street, Limerick, sent two letters to his Department withdrawing his application for a military pension, that no acknowledgment of these letters was sent to Mr. O'Sullivan, and if he will state if it is the practice of his Department to have applications of this kind still considered by the referee even when such applications have been withdrawn.

There is no record in my Department or in the office of the referee of any letter having been received from Mr. Liam O'Sullivan, William Street, Limerick, withdrawing his application under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1934. It is not the practice of my Department to require the referee to report on an application which has been withdrawn by the applicant.
