Vol. 85 No. 12

Written Answers. - The National Health Insurance Acts.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the estimated number of persons in full-time employment weekly in occupations insurable under the National Health Insurance Acts for the year ended 31st December, 1941, as reckoned from the net contribution income for that year.

Taking the average weekly national health insurance contribution at 7.68d., and calculating on an estimate of the contribution income of the National Health Insurance Fund, based on the information available, the provisional figure for the estimated average number of persons employed in each week of 1941 in occupations insurable under the National Health Insurance Acts was 402,000.

The expressions, "net contribution income" and "in each week", are used in the same sense as in the reply to the Deputy's question of the 11th March, 1941.
