asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state when the commission presided over by Judge Shannon, which inquired into the conditions of letting, etc., of houses built by Soldiers' and Sailors' Land Trust, completed its inquiry; when the report of the commission was presented to his Department; when the report will be published; and further, whether he will indicate the intentions of the Government with regard to the recommendations of the commission.

As regards the first part of the question, the committee presided over by Judge Shannon presented its report on 9th May, 1940. As I indicated in a reply to a similar question some weeks ago, certain discussions have been initiated and until these have been concluded it is not proposed to publish the report.
