Vol. 86 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Admixture of Oats and Wheat.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he can state what steps were taken by his Department to ensure that adequate supplies of oats of the 1941 crop would be available for admixture with wheat in the production of flour.

I understand that there are difficulties involved in the use of oats for admixture with wheat in the production of flour, even if it had been possible to acquire oats for the purpose from the limited quantities marketed by growers, following the 1941 harvest. No steps were, therefore, taken by my Department to have oats made available for the purpose.
