Vol. 86 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tea Supply to Sanatorium.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that 200 patients at Crooksling Sanatorium are receiving only one-fifth of the 1940 tea supplies, and if he will say whether he can at an early date increase the allowance to this and similar institutions; further, if he will state whether he hopes soon to be in a position to increase the allowance of tea to the general public.

The tea rationing scheme provides that the maximum monthly quantity of tea which Crooksling Sanatorium and any similar institution is entitled to receive is one-fifth of its average monthly deliveries of tea during the 12 months period ended 30th June, 1939. I regret that the present stock position and the uncertainty as regards future supplies does not permit of any increase in the rations of institutions or householders.
