Vol. 86 No. 10

Order of Business.

Mr. Davin rose.

Order of business.

There may be another way of raising this question if the Chair wants to curb supplementaries.

The Chair has discretion as to the number of supplementary questions which may be asked. The questions were replied to. An opportunity was afforded of asking supplementaries. If every question were to take ten minutes, an undue amount of the time of the House would be occupied with them.

Close down the House altogether.

Order of business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Items 3, 4 and 5 (Votes 32 to 40).

Will the Minister say what the order of business is?

The Chair did not hear what the Minister said owing to interjections and interruptions.

(Order of business repeated.)

Will the Minister say when it is proposed to adjourn to?

Tuesday next.

Does the arrangement still stand that the Budget statement will be made on Wednesday?

Last week I gave notice that I would raise on the Adjournment matters arising out of the unsatisfactory replies given by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance on certain questions which I then submitted. I was asked by the Parliamentary Secretary to postpone raising these matters on the Adjournment as he was on tour, and I agreed. I now beg to give notice that, with the permission of the Chair, I propose to raise on the Adjournment this evening the matters that I proposed to raise last week, as well as the unsatisfactory answer to question No. 21 which I had on to-day's Order Paper.

If they are related, yes, but only one matter may be raised on the Adjournment.

One will do.
