Vol. 86 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Widows and Orphans in County Limerick.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that a large number of widows and orphans who reside in the Liberties, adjoining Limerick County Borough have all the high cost of living of those who reside within the county borough and that the former are not eligible for food vouchers; and if he will take the necessary steps to make these persons eligible.

The food allowance scheme applies only to persons of the eligible classes resident in urban areas. It is not proposed to extend the scope of the scheme so as to include additional classes or areas.
