Vol. 86 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cavan Lorry Owner's Petrol Supply.

asked the Minister for Supplies whether he is aware that petrol coupons in respect of a lorry on which tax and insurance have been paid to date, have been refused Mr. Henry Toal, Swanlinbar, and that the reason for such refusal is an allegation that Mr. Toal committed an offence last year, with which he has never been charged, and which Mr. Toal did not at the time, and does not now, consider an offence; and if the Minister will consider the restoration of his petrol allowance to Mr. Toal.

The issue of petrol coupons for vehicle No. H.I.3131, owned by Mr. Henry Toal, Swanlinbar, has been withheld pending the result of investigations which are proceeding into alleged contraventions of the Emergency Powers (Motor Spirit Rationing) Order, 1941. I will not be in a position to consider the resumption of these allowances until such time as these inquiries have been completed.
