Vol. 86 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Rationing.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make representations to the Electricity Supply Board to furnish each customer with the figures against which he will be rationed for the future.

I understand that the board are making arrangements to insert in consumers' accounts for their guidance in each ensuring period of two months the actual total consumption figure in the corresponding period last year. In fact, some of the accounts already issued in respect of the March-April period of account have this figure inserted, but for future periods all accounts will contain the figure.

In the case of commercial firms with more than one meter, will the two meters be read together or separately; in other words, can they be up on one meter and down on the other?

I think the Deputy had better address his query to the board.
