Vol. 87 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milling Permits.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that the mills of Mr. Sparling at Clonshire, Mr. Sherwood at Clonshire, Messrs. Shine at Ballingarry, Messrs. Farrell at Ballysimon, and Messrs. Phelan at Newcastlewest, are all waterpower mills, and whether, in view of the shortage of electric power, he will grant permits to the owners of these mills to resume work.

I have granted Milling (Home-Grown Wheat) Permits to Messrs. Sparling, Sherwood and Shine. I am not prepared to do so in the case of Mr. O'Farrell, whose mill I have had reason to close down. Mr. Phelan's application for a Milling (Home-Grown Wheat) Permit is still under consideration.
