Vol. 87 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cycle Covers and Tubes.

asked the Minister for Supplies if, in view of the urgent need of replacements of cycle covers and tubes for the many thousands of citizens who now find bicycles essential for getting to and from their places of employment, he will state what efforts have been made to secure additional supplies of bicycle covers and tubes, and to what extent such efforts have been successful.

In the absence of additional supplies of rubber the number of bicycle covers and tubes to be produced here cannot be increased beyond the figures mentioned in the reply given in the Dáil to a question addressed to me on the 5th May, 1942. There is no possibility in existing conditions of securing additional supplies of covers and tubes from sources outside this country.
