Vol. 87 No. 20

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take the business as on the Order Paper, Votes 55 to 74.

I understand that on Vote No. 55—Industry and Commerce—there will be a debate on the first motion on the Agenda sheet relating to Private Deputies' Business. It has reference to the transport problem. The two debates will run concurrently. If the Deputies whose names are attached to this motion desire a division, they may have it after the Vote has been decided. As Deputies may not have that agenda I shall read the motion:—

That, in view of the chaotic condition of the transportation system, this House requests the Government immediately to introduce proposals for the purpose of acquiring the public transport undertakings of the country and operating them as a public utility service.
