Vol. 88 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Construction Corps Gratuity.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that only £1 was paid on discharge out of £10 bounty due to Mr. Kevin Taylor, Abbey Street, Cahir, County Tipperary, a member of the Construction Corps, who was discharged after 12 months' service on May 13th; and if he will state why the balance of the money due was withheld, and when it will be paid.

Mr. Kevin Taylor was paid the sum of £1 out of his gratuity, on his discharge from the Construction Corps on the 13th May last, and the balance of the gratuity was paid to him on the 24th June. The balance was withheld until it was ascertained that there were no charges against his pay account by way of kit deficiencies, or otherwise, on his discharge.
