Vol. 88 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milling in Abbeyfeale.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state if a milling permit has been refused to Mr. D. F. O'Connor's mill, Abbeyfeale, and, if so, if he will state for what reason; and if he will state whether he is aware that it is essential to have this mill working if the requirements of the locality are to be met; and if it is his intention not to permit this mill working, he will say how it is intended that the local grinding requirements will in future be met.

A milling permit was refused in respect of Mr. D.F. O'Connor's mill, Abbeyfeale, on the grounds that the milling facilities in the district were adequate. Recently, however, I received representations concerning this mill from Deputy O Briain, in consequence of which I arranged to have the application for a permit reexamined. I am not yet in a position to indicate what my decision will be.
