Vol. 88 No. 11

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 3 and 2 on the Order Paper in that order.

I understand the Government wanted accommodation with regard to the time.

Nos. 3 and 2.

Could the Minister for Justice say how long he will take to reply to the discussion on the Intoxicating Liquor Bill?

I shall be as brief as possible. The most I would want would be half an hour. Perhaps twenty minutes would be sufficient, but I do not think it would be extravagant to ask for half an hour. I should like to answer some of the points made. There were a great number of points made.

We could take No. 2 at half-past one.

At 12 o'clock.

Would it be agreeable to the House to take No. 2 first?

Mr. Boland

I should like to get time to reply to-day.

Will No. 2 take long?

Will it take two hours?

It might.

If it took two hours it might mean that the Second Stage of the Intoxicating Liquor Bill could not be finished to-day.

Could we not finish with the Intoxicating Liquor Bill by 12 o'clock?

Mr. Boland

I think we should conclude the debate on the Intoxicating Liquor Bill to-day.

What is No. 2?

The Supplementary Estimate for £100,000.

Will you take that first?

No. 2 to be concluded by 12 o'clock, noon.

Have you any information as to the number of likely speakers on the Intoxicating Liquor Bill?

They should be exhausted now.

Twenty-eight Deputies have already spoken on the Bill.

Do the different Parties know how many of their members wish to speak?

We are finished on this stage, anyway.

It is therefore agreed to conclude the discussion on No. 2 at 12 o'clock, noon.

When Deputy Davin got up to speak a number of Deputies also rose. If these Deputies intend to speak, I do not know how we can finish at 12.

No. 3 will be concluded too, allowing 20 minutes for the Minister for Justice to reply.

No. 2 will be concluded at 12 o'clock, noon, and No. 3 by 2 o'clock, giving the Minister at least 20 minutes to reply. Is that generally agreed?

Agreed.
