Vol. 88 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allocation of Turf in Necessitous Cases.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether, in the allocation of turf in necessitous cases at nominal prices, he will consider including in that category certain analogous types of cases such as widows of former members of the Gárda who are striving to maintain their families on small pensions.

Turf for householders such as those mentioned cannot be made available at a nominal price, but no doubt such householders will be entitled to benefit under the provision which makes turf available at the low price of 2/- per cwt. for families on low weekly incomes.
