Vol. 88 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fee Simple and Annuity Free Land.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of holdings (a) held in fee simple, and (b) otherwise free from the payment of annuities; and the total acreage of all such holdings.

I do not clearly understand from the form of the question exactly what information the Deputy desires. I do not know if he is aware that holdings vested by the Land Commission in tenant purchasers subject to land purchase annuities are legally "held in fee simple." Perhaps I may assume that what he desires to ascertain is the total number, with the total acreage, of holdings at present not subject to land purchase annuities. This information is not available in the Land Commission and I am not aware that it is available in any other Government Department.
