Vol. 88 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Disability Pensions.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware of the fact that a number of persons, many of whom had long service, have been discharged from the Army on medical grounds, without pension or gratuity and, whether, in view of the hardships inflicted upon such persons and their families, he will introduce proposals for legislation to provide for the payment of pensions in the case of persons whose discharge was attributable to ill-health during military service.

As the Deputy has been made fully aware, the draft of an amending Bill has been with the Parliamentary Draftsman for some time and will be introduced in the Dáil immediately the Bill is ready.
