Vol. 88 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Road.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether it is proposed to construct a new road through Cloghran and Santry to connect with the city; and, if so, if he has received objections to the proposal; and if he will consider as an alternative a scheme to widen the existing road, which scheme will give considerable employment and solve the traffic problem.

The proposals submitted by the Dublin County Council in connection with the planning of emergency employment schemes included a proposal for the improvement of the Whitehall-Santry road. An alternative which would involve a diversion of the existing road at Santry has been suggested and is being examined. Objections which have been received to this alternative will be carefully considered before a decision is come to.
