Vol. 89 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Casual Labourers' Pay at A.R.P. Stores.

asked the Minister for Defence whether any representations have been received by his Department for the payment of a half-day's pay to casual labourers employed at the A.R.P. Stores, St. Anne's, Clontarf, in respect of St. Stephen's Day, 1942; and whether, having regard to the provisions of the Conditions of Employment Act, it is proposed to pay the sum claimed; and, if so, when.

Representations have been received in my Department from the labourers employed in the A.R.P. Stores, St. Anne's, Clontarf, with a view to obtaining a full day's pay in respect of St. Stephen's Day, 1942. The representations have been duly considered and arrangements are being made for the early payment of the balance of pay due to the men concerned.
