Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Value of Postal and Money Orders.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the gross value of (a) the postal orders, (b) money orders, and (c) telegraph money orders, originating in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which were cashed during each of the quarters ending March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st, 1942, and March 31st, 1943.

Separate figures showing the value of ordinary money orders and telegraph money orders are not available, but the combined value of both types of orders can be given. Subject to this the information required is given in a tabular statement circulated in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

Total values of money orders (ordinary and telegraph) and postal orders originating in Great Britain and Northern Ireland paid during each quarter since 1st January, 1942, are as follows:—
