Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Corporal Punishment of Juveniles.

asked the Minister for Justice whether, in view of the volume of indignation which was expressed regarding the sentence of birching of the four young boys, at Dundalk recently, and of gratification at his action in remitting the penalties, he will take steps to introduce legislation to amend the Act under which these penalties were prescribed by the deletion of the provisions relating to corporal punishment for juvenile delinquents.
