Vol. 91 No. 14

Written Answer. - Sales of Savings Certificates.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state in respect of each county the value of the Saving Certificates sold in (a) each of the months of January to September, inclusive, 1942, and (b) in each of the months January to September, inclusive, 1943.

As the Post Office accounting system is based on head post office districts, which do not coincide with county divisions, there are not any accurate figures of Savings Certificates sales by counties. Approximate figures of such sales, based largely on certificate issues to the head post offices in each county, are being prepared and will be furnished to the Deputy at an early date.
