Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Licensing of Lorries in Kildare.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state (a) the number of lorries licensed under the Road Transport Act, 1933, for general merchandise, operating under a permit in County Kildare, and (b) the number operating under permit and licensed to carry only agricultural produce in County Kildare.

The reply takes the form of a tabular statement, which is being circulated with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

I presume that the Deputy refers to licences issued under the Road Transport Act, 1933. The particulars required are as follows:—

Six holders of merchandise licences have at present no lorries in use. In addition, the Great Southern Railways Company is licensed for the carriage of all classes of merchandise within the county.
