Vol. 91 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Tillage Equipment.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state what steps he proposes to take to provide tillage equipment in districts where present equipment is inadequate to carry out the requirements of the Compulsory Tillage Order.

Every effort is being made to obtain additional supplies of new agricultural machinery, but the amount which may be available is likely to be very limited.

What efforts are being made by the Minister's Department to provide machinery in districts where sufficient machinery is not available? Has any effort been made to transfer machinery from counties and districts where there is more than sufficient to districts where the supply is inadequate?

My information is that in every part of Ireland the people claim that the amount of farming machinery is inadequate, but each Department of the Government concerned with the provision of agricultural machinery is doing its best to secure additional supplies.
