Vol. 91 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donadea Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission propose to institute proceedings for the acquisition of the lands held by Mrs. M. T. Connor, at Hodgestown, Donadea, County Kildare; and, if so, when the lands are likely to be acquired and divided.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of the lands of Hodgestown, held by Mrs. Mary T. Connor, and owing to the emergency conditions they are not prepared to take any action at present regarding the question of their acquisition.

In view of the fact that this is an area in which there are uneconomic holders, will the Minister have the matter sympathetically examined with a view to seeing whether some steps could be taken, even during the emergency, to acquire these lands for the purpose of division?

It would be very difficult to do that under present conditions.

Will the Minister further examine the position?

I will have it further examined.
